Learn the Art of Fly Tying at One of Our 2026 Classes

Our Doc Fritchey chapter is once again offering both Beginner and Intermediate fly tying classes to the public. Both courses are taught by seasoned tiers, and assisted by a host of Chapter members who are at your elbow to help out.

The Beginner course is just that, intended to get the newcomer started with basic learning skills that can be utilized long after the course is completed. A variety of flies will be taught, in progression from very simple to a bit more complex. We offer a very nice set of fly tying tools for $70, for any beginner class participant who does not have their own set of tools.

For the Intermediate course, we will be focusing on tying dry flies. Students can learn new techniques and become more creative in their already known tying skill set. We will be going over a few basics in the first class just as a refresher.

The cost for each course is $50 and the materials that are used each night of the class are included. Follow-up emails (often with videos) are sent out after each class to each participant. Review each flyer and see which is the best fit for you… you can register for the Palmyra-based Beginner Class by mail; and the Harrisburg-based Beginner or Intermediate Classes at https://explorewildwoodpark.org/events. We are thrilled to once again offer these classes!
