Our May Membership Meeting Guest Speakers – Rich DiStanislao and Sarah Stark

May 26, 2026 7pm to 9pm

Travelogue: Land Of Fire and Ice 🔥🧊 Exploring the Wonders of Iceland and Experiencing a Memorable Fly-Fishing Venture

Come in out of the heat and “travel” to a cool country! President of DFTU, Rich DiStanislao, will give a presentation on the topic of “Iceland: A Travelogue and a Fishing Experience.” Rich and his daughter, Sarah Stark, are basing this upon their fishing trip to Iceland in July of 2025. Half the presentation will deal with general interest regarding Iceland, and half on the great brown trout fishing done there.

We will also be conducting a RAFFLE! Among several other fishing items, the centerpiece of the raffle will feature the framed print “Gems of Stony Creek.” The original watercolor, created by Dr. John A. “Doc” Fritchey, Jr. in 1976, depicts a Wood Duck, Bog Turtles, American Holly and Covell’s Rush. These flora and fauna were familiar to Doc during the many years he spent fishing and hunting in Stony Creek Valley in Dauphin County. The original work by this self-taught artist was printed and sold during the 1970s as a fundraiser for the Stony Valley Coalition in their successful effort to stave off commercial development of this pristine wilderness area north of Harrisburg, PA.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Every person coming to the meeting must present a photo ID at the entrance security gate at Ft. Indiantown Gap Base, and you must have something showing that you are coming for the Doc Fritchey TU meeting. Showing them this online posting will suffice.

NOTE: The restaurant/bar at Ft. Indiantown Gap Base will be open at the Arrowhead Lounge before the meeting for anyone who wishes to purchase food and/or drink.
