Our chapter’s annual picnic will be held on Sunday, August 25th, at Memorial Lake State Park, from 3:00 pm — 7:00 pm. We will be located at the Middle Pavilion. This is always a great time to meet up with old friends, make new friends, and tell both new and old tales of fishing. It is a family outing, the social event that has replaced our annual banquet. Nothing to bring but yourselves, the chapter has everything covered.
This is a totally catered event, with Mission BBQ once again providing all the wonderful picnic food and set-ups; the chapter will have bottled water on hand all day long. You might want to bring a folding camp chair to use as you choose to sit under the shade of a tree. Or you might want to bring your favorite rod along to practice casting or to try fishing off the edge of the lake, or toss some bags of cornhole.
There are trails to walk, a volleyball net, children’s playground area, and plenty of nature to go around. You can bring a canoe or kayak and cruise around the water. We will organize a fly casting event near the pavilion after dinner. Directions to Memorial Lake State Park can be found their website.
This is an event for the entire chapter, and advance tickets are required to attend. Costs have gone up significantly for the food and arrangements, and thus the increase to our ticket prices for this year (it’s still WAY cheaper than the banquet, with no one asking your to buy additional prize tickets).
This year’s ticket costs are $20 per adult (age 12 and over), and $10 per child under 12 years of age). Please make your reservation with the chapter by August 16 as we must place a count for this catered event.
