Mark Nale, award-winning Pennsylvania outdoor writer and photographer, will be the featured speaker for our chapter’s November meeting.
His presentation will be a very family-oriented program where he discusses the techniques to take great outdoor photos, whether it be of your favorite catch, trophy deer, bird or wildflower. This program should appeal to any outdoor enthusiast who loves to record their experiences through photos.
Mark is a past president of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association, and has received numerous awards for his photography of our state’s wildlife, including birds, animals, trees and wildflowers. Mark has had over 225 photographs published since 2010, and he serves as a contractor and consultant for outdoor writing. Mark also serves as a Veteran’s Service Partner for Trout Unlimited, providing trout fishing experiences for our military veterans and active military personnel. He still provides a weekly blog for the Pennsylvania Outdoor News. He is a retired school biology teacher at Tyrone High School and adjunct faculty member in Biology at Juniata College.
For those of you who have not joined us at the Community Club at Fort Indiantown Gap, please be assured this is an excellent meeting location. We are in a large private room, adjacent to the bar and grill; so many of our attendees arrive early for burgers, beer and conversation before the program begins at 7:00pm. This year’s Chapter President, Chuck Swanderski, runs an excellent meeting. Nice and tight, and operating on the SOT squared formula – start on time and stop on time. Non-members are invited to attend!
NOTE: There is a newly-constructed main gate now operational at Ft. Indiantown Gap. To access the Community Club for our meetings, take exit 85B north on Rt. 934 (Fisher Road) from I-81 to the main gate. After checking in at the security station, the road winds around to a traffic light where you take a right and continue north on Fisher Road. The Community Club is located on the left just before the intersection with Clement Road.
