Susquehanna River Basin Commission to Host Virtual Meeting in December

The Susquehanna River Basin Commission will host a Lower Susquehanna Source Water Protection Partnership meeting on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm in both in-person and virtual web-conference.

The in-person meeting will be held at Susquehanna River Basin Commission, 4423 N. Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Virtual participants may join via Webex meeting. Regardless of whether you’re planning to attend virtually or in-person, register for the event in advance at this link.

Cybersecurity

Patti-Kay Wisniewski, Drinking Water Preparedness and Resiliency Coordinator for USEPA Region 3, will highlight Cybersecurity elements of the 2018 American Water Infrastructure Act.

Michael Papciak, Director of Keystone Engineering Group, will share his organization’s experience managing Cybersecurity threats to water utilities.

Harmful Algal Blooms

Representatives from seven Pennsylvania state agencies make up the statewide HABs Task Force. A panel of Task Force members will discuss the Commonwealth’s coordinated approach to monitoring, response, and communications about Harmful Algal Blooms.

Climate Change

Rob Harvey, Ph.D., Assistant Filter Plant Superintendent of The York Water Company, will describe his organization’s concerns about Climate Change and actions that York Water is implementing to reduce risks.
