Volunteers Needed for DeHart Dam Day on October 1

Capital Region Water (CRW), operator of the DeHart Dam on Clarks Creek, has scheduled a trash pickup along a section of Clarks Valley Road (S.R. 325) followed by a tour of the DeHart Dam facilities.

The Doc Fritchey Chapter (DFTU) and Clarks Creek Watershed Preservation Association (CCWPA) have been invited to participate in these activities beginning at 8:30 AM and wrapping up at about 12:30 PM on Saturday, October 1. All equipment needed for the cleanup and lunch will be provided by CRW.

We are seeking volunteers who would be interested in helping to clean up the Clarks Valley watershed as well as learning how the DeHart Dam controls the cold water release so important to the survival of the wild trout population of Clarks Creek.

Please contact Bob Pennell by September 23 at 717-395-5124 or rpennell37@comcast.net if you are available to help out with this activity or you can register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2022-dehart-day-tickets-416657362387.
