Sunday Hunting Changes Plans for Diversion Wells

With the passage of Senate Bill 147 last year, hunters will now have the opportunity to engage in big-game hunting on three Sundays – all on consecutive weeks – in Pennsylvania.

The three Sunday hunting dates for the 2020 season are:

  • November 15 – Deer (Archery)
  • November 22 – Bear Hunting
  • November 29 – Deer (Rifle)

As a result, this change to the schedule will affect our ongoing, weekly conservation work at the diversion wells on Rausch Creek, in State Gamelands #211. For those three Sundays in November, no drive-ins will be permitted. As such, we’re asking volunteers to not show up at the wells for volunteer work.

Our project coordinator, Dennis Coffman, will have special access and plans to bike into the wells with a select group of volunteers. So, unless you’ve heard from Dennis already, please stay home these next few Sundays. Or – better yet – get out and go hunting!
