Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association Hosts Beginner’s Fly Tying Course This Winter

The Doc Fritchey Chapter of Trout Unlimited is pleased to announce that we are sponsoring an introduction class in fly tying. The class is in cooperation with the Palmyra Sportsman’s Association and will be conducted at their facility located at: 410 Sportsman’s Road  Annville, PA 17003.

The classes will begin on Monday, February 21, 2022 and run for six consecutive Monday nights. Time for the classes is 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Instructors are from our TU Chapter. Topics covered will be materials, tools and a progression of tying techniques and skills necessary to begin tying basic flies used for fly fishing.

Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association

This course is intended for anyone looking to get started in fly tying, however participants must be at least age 16 or older. The cost for the six instructional sessions and materials needed for the sessions is $35. Tools are required starting the first class on February 21st. You can either bring your own tools and vise or purchase a complete kit including vise for $50 (a $10 savings). These kits will be available at the first class.
