At PA Council’s Annual Meeting today, our chapter received the 2021 Award for Best Chapter Website, and Russ Collins received the Dr. John A. Fritchey, Jr. Outstanding Conservationist of the Year Award.
Russ’s award – which was renamed several years ago to honor our chapter founder’s work to save Stony Valley – is awarded each year to a PATU member who best exemplifies the commitment and dedicated efforts so necessary in achieving TU’s mission, “to conserve, protect and restore our cold-water resources and their watersheds.”
Russ, whose term serving as PATU’s Southcentral PA Regional VP has expired, was also elected to serve as the PATU National Leadership Council (NLC) representative. The NLC is the volunteer body that sets the direction of National TU and is made up of one representative elected from each state of TU’s 36 councils.
Kudos to Andy and Russ for their dedication and hard work in achieving these honors!
